The
Ernie Davis Football Fund
The Ernie Davis Football Fund was created in 1982 to assist the Syracuse
University football team with its recruiting endeavors. The fund was
named for the two-time All-American and Heisman Trophy winner to honor
the great tradition of Syracuse football.
This fund is used exclusively to help the coaching staff
recruit the next great "44" to the Carrier Dome. As a member, you
receive various benefits (listed in chart below). You also have the
exclusive opportunity to meet current SU football players and coaching
staff at various social activities.
Membership in this fund allows you to accumulate priority points at an
accelerated pace. This is a significant way to upgrade your seating for
bowl and away game tickets. As of July 2000, Ernie Davis members will be
rewarded for a long-term commitment to SU through additional priority
points. Once you donate to this fund for at least 5 years, you will
receive double points per year in years 6-10. After 10 years of annual
membership, your points will triple per year.
For example, the membership fee to be eligible for the accelerated
points is $800 annually.
This gives you 8 points (1 for each $100) and 3 points for renewing your
membership for a total of 11 points.
After 5 years of continuously donating, that number doubles and you
receive 22 points per year instead of 11. After 10 years you receive 33
points per year.
